Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's had great popularity with her stories that she shares about her childhood heartbreak. Swift began to show an interest in the music industry as early as age. The trajectory of her career was rapid from children's play roles, through her first public appearance in the presence of thousands. Swift began writing music at the age of 11. She sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Swift was inspired to compose her own songs by country music artists genre such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift's parents relocated her to Tennessee at the age of thirteen after they sold their Pennsylvania farm. The move enabled Swift to be more active in looking for labels to promote traditional music from Nashville.
